Run to Him
"The name of the Lord is a strong tower. Run to Him and be safe." Proverbs 18;10
Jesus said to ask anything in his name, the God in flesh name, the glorious name of the Exalted one and live expectantly. The name is not "magical," but the faith in the person who bears the name opens doors to the impossible, the miracle. His love for us keeps the door to his chamber open wide. With our lips, we call, "Jesus, I need your strength" and He empowers us. "Jesus I need your comfort," and He covers us. "Jesus, I love you," and He spreads a banquet table before us.
His name is a "strong tower." The Apostle Paul wrote to the Christians at Philippi, "I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me." In my weakness, He is strong. He is immovable and steady. His tower is a place of provision. The Proverb says to run, not walk or jog or pause, but to run to this place where we find refuge and safety. Jesus promised that all our daily needs will be met if we choose to abide in Him (our refuge) and trust in His name (call out to Him).
The truth is these words have greater relevance as we stumble through days or weeks of pain and suffering. When our world seems out of control, we need a place of refuge and a place of strength. Run until your breath escapes you and then whisper aloud, "Jesus!"
